Name: Paldonna Dyken
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Affiliation: Paldonna works for whoever pays her. She isn't wanted by the Royals, but she isn't necessarily an honest business woman either.
Profession: Huntress, and at times pickpocket.
Inventory/Important Possessions: Her main prized possession is an iron charm that is a flat diamond shape with the outline of the same shape on the inside. This she
constantly wears since her father gave it to her for accomplishing her first task when she was a child, and he died a couple years later.
Personality: She isn't very welcoming to newcomers at first, but she'll let people grow on her. She's very cautious of her surroundings, but still will take a fight that she can access. She's a very 'lone-wolf' type, always going out on her own, looking for things to do, but she will become loyal to those who earn her trust.
Appearance: She had long, straight, light brown hair, vivid grey-blue eyes, lightly tanned skin, and an average figure for a twenty year old girl. She has strong arms, being as she uses a bow and dagger in hunting, plus who says she hasn't gotten into a few fist fights? She most often wears a pale grey hood on her head and wears a leather vest over her linen clothing. She's often found to have bare feet and cloth wraps on her hands.
History: Paldonna was born a peasant to a hunter and a simple woman. She was raised in the villages in the Outer City, though she was further 'out' in the wild. Her father being a hunter would sell the meat he found, allowing his family to live decently. Nine years after Paldonna was born, she was brought to the forest with her father to practice her shooting skills. She had always been one to admire her father's strength with a bow. As they were walking through the forest, her father had stopped her when he heard the movement of bushes up ahead. He warned her before they'd left that as soon as they heard something move they would have to be silent as a mouse. That being the best way he could explain it to a nine year old, Paldonna crouched with her oversized bow, waiting for the creature to appear.
Her father waited with her; to Paldonna, it seemed like hours had passed, but slowly a hare crept out of the shrubs. Paldonna was thrilled to see her first hunt. She shot her arrow and it flew through the air! Only to hit the ground a few feet in front of her and scaring the hare away.
Her father complimented her on her eager attempt, warning her to act a little more carefully next time. So, the next day they went out again. Paldonna practiced all day in the forest as her father did the actual hunting. Soon, it had been weeks as she trained herself, her father giving her tips and tricks. Then when they went out on a hunting trip, once again, looking for a hare, Paldonna was steady on her feet. The hare emerged from the bushes, she aimed her bow and arrow, fingers tight around the string, then released. The stone-tipped arrow flew through the air like the first time, then landed so close to the hare it could have been a dead shot. Like the first time, the hare raced away, leaving Paldonna disappointed with herself. But that wasn't how her father felt. Being that she'd been training for weeks and she'd come that close to making her first kill, he was quite proud. They reached home and her father came out of their home with a clutched hand held out. He opened his palm, revealing the diamond shaped iron necklace. It was only about an inch big, but it would soon become the most prized possession Paldonna had ever had. Now this was her award for doing her best in her hunt.
She took the necklace and put it on immediately, treasuring it. She continued to practice with her hunting skills, determined to earn the necklace her father had given her even more. A year had passed and she was hitting the bullseye on her training target more often than not. She was to try again in hunting a hare.
Now for the third time, she and her father left their home, going out into the forest, finding a hare, and waiting patiently for it to come into sight. Paldonna moved quietly through the bushes, bow in hand, eyes wide open. She released the arrow from its security. It zipped by the trees and landed its mark, the hare moving just slightly before laying on the forest floor, lifeless. Paldonna had finally made her first kill. It wasn't much, but to her it was like winning an award from the king himself.
She and her father took the first kill and went back home, it being sunset again. Now this making her parents proud, they celebrated in their own way or playing a game and having their supper on the hare. Paldonna was proud to have her father and mother's pride in her achievement. Now this happened in fine time. But the celebration would soon end merely a year later. Her father was sent out with two other men on a hunting trip in rather dangerous territory of wild animals. The two men came back with terrible news for Paldonna and her mother. They reported Paldonna's father to have been killed in their hunt and barely allowing them to escape themselves.
Paldonna being heartbroken was now given the job to hunt for her smaller family and for the business of selling meat her father had had. Several years had passed, her hunting job seeming to become more and more depressing. Her mother would cheer her up by giving thoughtful ideas or things her father might tell her of the things she was doing.
At the age of eighteen, Paldonna was sent out into the busier parts of the Outer City, after her growing-old mother had passed of a disease going around. Now she was alone and had to fight for her food or go around begging. She hunted, sold, and repeated those steps day to day, practicing her skills more and more until she could shoot a deer a good twenty feet off and make a decent shot. She ended up pickpocketing any richer visitors when she was desperate for money, more often in winter than not, when the hunting business wasn't doing as well. Now she roams the streets, her hood hiding most of her face, and selling her kills to anyone who trusts a twenty year old girl enough to buy the fresh meat. But considering her past, she attempts to keep a more... positive mind. For herself at least.
