Paldonna only glances to Vellian for a moment. Still that lone-wolf sort of vibe. She eyes the creature, reloading an arrow, creeping over to where it left off...

Atherius jogged over towards the direction the creature ran off to. Staring his brutal glare towards the direction it ran. After breathing in and out without abandon, Atherius slowly soothed his spirits and turned towards the fallen Vellian. Walking over, he offered a hand down to assist her in standing again.

For the second time, the man who Vellian was jealous of for the armor had helped her to her feet. This might happen again a few times...
When suddenly, the monster busted out of the forest behind Paldonna, attempting to knock her over. It simply vanished into the forest and used its agility to maneuver around the group.

Being as the creature was ten feet tall and probably had massive arms, Paldonna was smacked to the side. But being annoyed at getting a faceful of dirt, she leaped up and shot another arrow at the creature, letting out a surprisingly vicious yell, partly in hopes of spooking it off.

Atherius turned around and faced Paldonna's position. Breathing out once, returning to his primal instincts of the hunt, he rose the steel blade that was practically an extension of his very being, even on a spiritual level. Grunting once in breath, darting his blue eyes across the forests, entering a state of heightened awareness with a low hum in his throat. Body flexing as he prepared for a riposte towards the creature, should it come to confront the group again.

However, the monster had better ideas, since it isolated Paldonna, and she kept shooting arrows at it which kept hitting, it tried to grab the poor hunter with a quick swipe with the grasping claws.
Vellian, though, charged the beast and stabbed one of its slender legs, at least providing a distraction for the time being. When it spun around to face her, she walked back, hoping to lead it into Atherius' sword, in which, it did charge after her on all fours, going at a fast speed.

As no comfirmation of what ever became of their last attacks can only assume they missed. As Palid goes to prepare to try and shield bash the beast if it doesn't fall for the Trick to run into the waiting blade. As Fred once more must wait with the flaming sword, a lot of this falls onto If Vellian's gambit works.

Paldonna unsheathed her dagger to stab at the incoming, clawed arm. She dashed a good few feet away again, still reloading and shooting at the creature.

Atherius clenched his teeth down beneath his helmet and rushed forwards as Vellian led the creature towards him. Holding his hands towards his right shoulder, holding his blade parallel to the ground in a lance-like formation, he charged headlong into the beast as it chased the patrol women. Lunging forwards, he attempted to pierce the beast right in it's stomach-region, believing that aiming for the center of mass would give him a wider target, as well as make the beast less agile with it's added attention from both Palid, Frederick, and Paldonna. If his strike failed, somewhere in his battle-raged mind, he hoped that one of them would gather on and take the beast.

The beast let out an ungodly screech as it clasped its bleeding stomach, mouth slowly opening as it fell over and made a huge thump onto the ground, finally dead. Vellian stared at its body and shook her head.
"This could be one of the Owl Kin. I've heard of them in legends... let's all take a short moment to catch out breath."
She looked around restlessly, staring at the blood trail the first monster left behind.

Frederick looks around waving his flaming blade.
"Not one but three monsters in the woods all at the same time, what did someone open a gate to the land of nightmares, and just let it all trapise out."

Atherius coughed and shook his head, looking around at the team as he was caught beneath the fallen Owl Kin. Gritting his teeth and moving from side to side in a squirming motion, he called out:
"I don't plead nor do I beg, but might I catch the assistance of you all to help get this thing off of me?"
He said with a small chime in his tone, before looking back to the toppled beast and clearing his throat.
"How much do you think it's pelt sells for?"

Paldonna still had her bow aimed at the dead beast. She clearly wasn't quick to believe her eyes, even if the beast really was dead. She very slowly lowered her point, taking the arrow out and putting it into her quiver again. She rejoined the group, eyeing the owl creature.

Palid goes to try and help Atherius up.
"T...t...the corpse is... best left to study, as opposed... to just decorating a noble's home."

Paldonna puts a hand out to Atherius to help him get out from underneath the owl. "Considering this is probably a rare kill, I'd say a lot..." She said hesitantly, as though she'd been thinking about the same thing.

Paldonna glances to Palid. "Study? What's there to study? It's a deadly giant owl creature who kills and is dangerous. That's all there is to study about it."

Palid looks at her.
"But....bu...but so... much to learn about... how...how.. it functions, how... it is built."

Paldonna just stares at him. "It's built... like an owl. Feathers and... well... this one has teeth... but about the same concept. And don't take this the wrong way, but why do you stutter?" She asked, very straight forward.

Palid Blinks.... topic change and at the really most akward time. 'hey guys there's dangerous nightmare monsters in the woods now, not just one but like three, and who knows how many, now's a great time to go over your speach impediment.' as He just seems more caught by the sudden tonial shift of the converastion, confuddled.

Paldonna was constantly hunting and constantly around wild animals - this wasn't a super big change for her... except for the toothed ten-foot owl. "Well?" She insisted.
