Atherius abruptly stopped his song and looked sighed. Blowing a strand of hair from off of his face, he studied their surroundings and went dropped to dead silence, taking in the ambient whistling of the trees.

If one of the adventurers was particularly good at hearing, they would notice the patter of paws in the distance. Paldonna, especially, would hear these as she tried to find firewood.
Suddenly, a monstrous canine creature approached, baring two large fangs that protruded out of its mouth like tusks. It was about seven feet long and five feet tall, 180 pounds of pure strength and hunting skill imbedded into one killing machine. It was covered in black, though, and it had a almost mane-like streak of gray fur that ran along its back. If anyone knew, it was a Forest Worg, often domesticated by madmen to use in armies and such. However, for now, it circled her.

Paldonna froze in her tracks, keeping a loose grip on her sharp stick. Her other hand was immediately ready to grab her dagger if needed. She watched the worg, not making eye contact to avoid giving it the idea that she wanted a fight for territory. She simply stood there, waiting for it to make a move.

Fred Unaware by the lantern fire, Palid is rummaging through the woods for wood, probably can't hear the soft padding of paws over his own Gear as he's rummaging and collecting Firewood.

The Forest Worg suddenly pounced at Paldonna, gracefully flying through the air at high speeds as it tried to pin her down.

Considering the Worg was basically her height and, in general, much bigger than her, she hit the ground with a thud. She snatched her dagger out, and attempting to pierce the creature with it, still trying to keep calm and avoid making any eye contact.

However, unlike the Owl Kin or the Hydra, the Worg was intelligent. Noticing her movement it immediately pinned down her arms and attempted to immobilize her before it would land a dangerous blow, seemingly taking its time with the kill, like it was some sort of cruel game.

Paldonna froze under the beast. She certainly wasn't one to cry for help, and plus, she would probably just startle the Worg into giving her another strike if she did. She relaxed her arms before quickly trying to break one free and grab either her dagger or sharp stick.

However, it seemed like the Worg purposely let her go. It jumped back and started to circle again, its eyes not full of bloodlust but mania and entertainment from this 'game'. Not once had it drawn blood from its victim, Paldonna, but this seemed like 'after-meal playtime' to it.

Paldonna wasn't enjoying this game. She quickly grabbed her stick and dagger, standing half crouched as the Worg circled her. She didn't want this creature to actually attack her so she didn't attack it. Though, it's pelt would get a good payment... But she wasn't about to get herself killed in the process.

When suddenly, it sits down, simply gazing at her with a subjective glance that judged her every movement, keeping an eye on her wherever she went. Its behavior was strange in comparison to any other canine creature, who would rip their victims apart instantly, but Worgs are very intelligent and often act in ways that seem cruel.

Paldonna eyes the creature for several moments before very slowly lowering her weapons. She still kept a strong grip on them, in case the Worg changed its mind, but other wise, she just stood there.

It tilted its head to the side for a couple of seconds before getting up and walking away at a slow, but not a suspicious and stealthy pace, padding along the forest floor as it left Paldonna behind after its ridiculous and cruel game. Interesting creatures, Worg are, and it may explain why domestic ones can be known to be vicious.

Paldonna was stupid when it came to a deadly creature n harming her. She silently went after it - after all, it acted like a dog just then. Perhaps she could gain its trust... Or she'd be beaten up. Either way, watching new animals that didn't try to kill her was now kind if her thing.

However, the Worg bursted into its equivalent of a jog, which clocked at twenty miles per hour as it dashed too fast for Paldonna to catch up. And that's what happened; it had come and gone within a few minutes, its motives unknown.

Paldonna slowed. She didn't like not knowing the reasons creatures acted. But she resumed back to the camp of people, collecting dry pieces of wood and twigs a as she went along. Maybe a bit of tinder, too.
As shed arrived back, she dumped her Poole of sticks on the ground. "There's also worgs out here, too, apparently."

"Really?"
Atherius said as he continued twirling his hair between his index finger and thumb. Nodding slowly and giving a 'hm' sound in an inquisitive manner.
"There are also birds in trees and turtles in ponds."
His tune was extremely humored and sarcastic at the same time, though he gave an appreciative nod to Paldonna for her trek through the woods and acquirement of lumber.

Vellian nodded at Paldonna and pointed to one of the seats with one of her hands, still with one of her gauntlets on, giving an appreciative nod for the firewood.
"Come, sit. We're all exhausted by now, tomorrow we'll pick up on the blood trail..."
She swiveled on the makeshift bench and stared at the dried trail of dark red blood, which had almost permanently stained the grass of the forest. Something in her mind told her that they were farther in the forest than any other traveler, which would explain a lot about the common appearance of dangerous beasts of legend. She simply nodded and swiveled back to face where the fire would be lit, returning to a contemplative stance yet again as she thought more of the adventure.

Paldonna shrugs, taking on a sharper tone. "Well, seeing as you're all a bit like city people, didn't know how often you get out into the woods." She sits down on the log, pulling out her dagger and stick, continuing to sharpen the already arrow-like piece of wood.
